Chilcompton Craft Fayre will take place on Saturday 2nd November, 10.00am ‘til 3.00pm in the Village Hall, although doors open at 8.00am for sellers to set up. Sign-up sheets are now in the link. Please have a look to see if you are able to help in the kitchen in any of the time slots and/or to make cakes for the café and church cake stall. Many thanks.

SHOEBOXES – leaflets and ideas sheets are avail- able for both churches – St. John’s being by the Mission board – please help yourselves. Please note that due to tougher import regulations, toothpaste and sweets can no longer be included. If you prefer to donate knitted items, stationery, toiletries, etc., there will be a box available. Monetary donation towards Operation Christmas Child’s costs can be put in one of the envelopes and placed in the office pigeon hole or post box. Please gift aid it if you are able. Collection of boxes will be Friday 18th November. Thank you, Kate.

You are invited to a special Tearfund service at Welton Baptist Chapel, West Road, in their 6.00pm evening service on Sunday, Nov 10th. This is with a speaker on the “Rubbish Campaign” and outline of which is as follows:

Two billion people in the world’s poorest countries are living and working among piles of waste because their rubbish isn’t collected. That’s one in four people on the planet who are drinking polluted water, breathing toxic air and battling sickness. This causes up to a million deaths a year – and the waste mountains are growing. Companies are making this worse by selling billions of single-use plastic products in countries where waste isn’t collected. They know full well that communities will have no choice but to live among this rubbish or burn it – which also contributes to climate change.

Winter Service Pattern: The clocks change on October 27th. In response to requests to avoid the need to come out in the dark, we will trial a new service pattern from November onwards.
9.00am service – always at St. Vigor’s,
10.30am service – always at St. John’s.
6.30pm service – CELTIC SERVICE ONLY on 1st

Sunday of each month Everyone welcome to all services.

Deanery News…

In Coleford, we are busy planning carols. On Friday 15th November at 7.00pm, we are having a Raise the Roof with Carols when we shall sing a wide variety. And for our Carol Service on Sunday 22nd December we are forming a Congregational Choir to lead different carols.

There were a few updates to the new Deanery Directory and if you want to the latest version it is on https://www.colefordwithholcombe.co.uk/deanery/ and the password you need is Churches (with a capital C).
